My professional and voluntary work has been developed in various  fields, all of them relating to the fight for social inclusion of vulnerable  people and of vulnerable groups and communities, mainly women, ethnic minorities and youth:

At Present

  • Refugee Women`s Empowerment Program Coordinator at CARAS (Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers) - Since May 2017. London.
  • Researcher, Consultant and Learning Facilitator on Gender Equality, Diversity Management, Psycho-Educational Intervention and Women`s Empowerment- Since June 2014.
  • Collaborator as Learning Facilitator with several women`s support and empowerment programs in several countries such as Spain, Ireland (2004-2006), Guatemala (2011), Nepal (2012), Bolivia (2013), India (2015) and United Kingdom (Since September 2016)

  • Since June 2015, collaborating as learning facilitator with the “Liga Española de la Educación” (Spanish League for Education), an organisation aimed at implementing socio-educational and cultural intervention programs for priority sectors   such as childhood, family, youth, immigration, public school, education for citizenship or international cooperation.  

  • Since 2013, member of the Consultative Board of the “Asociación con la A”, an association aimed at fighting for Gender   Equality and Equity.  
  • Since 2009, delivering workshops and talks on social inclusion policies, poverty and social exclusion in Spain and in other EU  countries. 

 Previous Work Experience  

  • January 2009 to September 2016 (Madrid, Spain) - Managing Director of the European Anti-Poverty Network in Spain, an independent coalition of NGOs and other groups aimed   at fighting poverty and social exclusion in the member States of the European   Union ( /
  • December 2006 to  December 2008 (Madrid, Spain) - Director of Communication, Volunteering and External Relationships, at RAIS Foundation, a foundation aimed at   fighting homelessness.

  • October 2004 to November 2006 (Dublin, Ireland) - Youth Project Coordinator Outreach  Worker at Clondalkin Travellers Development Group, in Dublin, Ireland.   This organisation is aimed at fighting social exclusion and discrimination   & at the development of the Irish Traveller Community.

  • Jun 1997 to October 2004 (Santander, Spain)- Volunteering Coordinator, Learning Centre Coordinator Social Educator at “Proyecto Hombre Cantabria”, an organisation aimed at providing   drug addiction treatment & prevention services.

  • January 1993 to Jun 1997 (Santander, Spain)– Human Resources Consultant at Díaz & Santurtun Consulting.

  • February to July  2016 - Member of the Coordination Board of the Spanish Third Sector Platform.
  • June 2012 to July  2016 - Member of the Gender Equality Working Group at the Social Action  Body of the Spanish Ministry of Health & Social Services.
  • January 2015-2016, professor at the postgraduate program "Social Innovation, Management and Planning Specialist" at CLM University (Spain).  
  • April 2012 to April  2015 - Member of the Coordination Board of Fiare-Banca Popolare Etica”  (Ethical Bank) in Spain, a popular credit cooperative and member of its Ethical Committee.
  • International Development Cooperation: more than five   years collaborating with Intermón-Oxfam (Member of Oxfam International) 2000-2005, and other International Development NGOs in different projects such as Supporting Women Empowerment, Awareness Raising and Fair Trade in   Spain, Ireland, Guatemala, Nepal and Bolivia.
  • January to December   2011 - Member of the Coordination Committees of two National Programs  Against Discrimination in Spain:
  • Integrated  Local Action Plan against Discrimination. Project promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality in partnership with the Spanish Municipalities & Provinces Federation.
  • European PROGRESS Program 2010-2011: Promoting Equality: awareness, discussion and debate.Project promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social   Policy and           Equality, in partnership with the "Promotion of Equal Treatment  and  Non-Discrimination Council”, and in coordination with Social Action NGOs.
  • March 2004 to November 2006 - Member of the Equality Working Group of Clondalkin Partnership  (Dublin, Ireland).
  • Author of several  articles and speaker at various forums mainly relating to poverty, social exclusion, discrimination and gender equity.
